HarfangLab, a French cybersecurity company, announced on September 16, 2026, that it has received the ISO 27001:2022 certification from the Cyberval organization. This certification confirms that the company meets international standards for managing information security, further strengthening its reputation. HarfangLab is already certified by France's National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI) and Germany's Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), both of which are prominent in the cybersecurity field. The ISO 27001:2022 standard outlines a systematic approach to managing sensitive company information, ensuring it remains secure. This certification was obtained after a detailed audit by Cyberval, which evaluated HarfangLab's security policies and internal procedures.
The ISO 27001:2022 standard includes a seven-step process for building an effective information security management system (SMSI). These steps involve identifying critical assets, involving management in the security process, assessing risks, allocating appropriate resources, implementing procedures, verifying their effectiveness, and making necessary improvements. The standard also provides 93 specific security measures grouped into four categories: organizational policies, human factors, physical security, and technical safeguards. These measures include encrypting data, fixing vulnerabilities, securing remote workstations, training employees, and ensuring third-party service providers meet the same security standards.
The audit conducted by Cyberval involved a multi-day on-site review of HarfangLab’s security protocols and internal practices. This certification allows HarfangLab to focus more on how the entire company is structured to protect its data on a daily basis, rather than solely validating its Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) software. This is especially significant given the European NIS 2 directive, which requires many companies and public institutions to improve their cybersecurity measures. Although France has not yet passed the NIS 2 directive into national law, organizations under its scope are expected to demand that their service providers demonstrate robust security practices.
Anouck Teiller, deputy general manager of HarfangLab, stated that meeting the highest security standards is a core part of the company's identity. HarfangLab now positions itself as a leading European provider of "Workspace Detection and Response" solutions, which monitor the entire digital work environment—from the cloud to user accounts—using internet-based tools and even AI agents. The company’s approach relies on a single, lightweight software application powered by artificial intelligence, designed specifically to detect and respond to potential threats efficiently.
