The third edition of the Tours Bière Festival will take place this Saturday, October 10, at Place de la Résistance in Tours. According to the website brasserieartisanale.fr, there are currently 27 active breweries in the department of Indre-et-Loire, and the festival aims to showcase a selection of them. A dozen breweries from the Touraine region will be present, including La P'tite Maiz (Notre-Dame-d'Oé), Kapsyle (Chambray-lès-Tours), Crafty (Tours), and Art is an Ale (Amboise). An invited brewery from outside the region, La Débauche from Angoulême, will also participate.
Valentin Mayer, also known as Tinos, a member of the festival organizing team and manager of the bar Les Dix Fûts in Tours, explained that the goal is to create a direct contact between brewers and consumers so they can exchange ideas and experiences. Access to the festival will be free, with attendees required to pay a modest fee of 3 € to purchase a glass for sampling beers at various stands.
Non-alcoholic beverage consumers will not be excluded, as breweries have planned a soft drinks bar and non-alcoholic offerings. For families, there will be a children's area with coloring books and toys. The festival will feature a musical program focused on electronic music, including dub and house genres. Hot dogs and nachos will be available from Dog & Nachos, and crepes will be prepared by festival volunteers.
The event aims to bring together beer enthusiasts, families, and music lovers in a relaxed and accessible environment. It highlights the growing interest in local brewing and provides a platform for both established and emerging breweries to share their products with the public.
