FC Barcelona continued their dominant run in La Liga with a commanding 7-2 victory over Racing Santander on Wednesday. The win marked the club’s sixth consecutive league triumph, setting a new record as manager Hansi Flick became the first in the club’s history to win the first seven competitive matches of a season. Raphinha was the star of the match, scoring a hat trick, while João Cancelo, Gabriel Jesus, and Lamine Yamal also found the net. Barcelona now has 33 goals in seven games across all competitions and leads Real Madrid by three points at the top of the league. The match began with Barcelona in control. João Cancelo opened the scoring in the eighth minute with a long-range shot that bounced off the crossbar before nestling into the net. Dani Olmo had two opportunities before Raphinha converted a penalty after being fouled by Pedro Felipe, giving Barcelona a 2-1 lead. Racing Santander responded with a goal from Maguette Gueye, but Cancelo struck again with another long-range effort that deflected in off Asier Villalibre. Raphinha added a fourth goal after being set up by Olmo, playing as a center-forward for the first time in the match. Barcelona faced a minor setback in the first half when backup goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny replaced Joan García, who appeared to injure himself while slipping to retrieve the ball. Lamine Yamal had a chance to score a fifth goal after Karim Adeyemi was fouled in the box, but his penalty was saved by Julen Agirrezabala. Yamal later hit the post and had a goal disallowed for offside. Racing Santander capitalized on a defensive error from Szczesny to score a fifth goal through Yassir Zabiri, but Barcelona quickly responded with another penalty after Adeyemi was fouled again. Raphinha completed his hat trick from the spot for his ninth league goal, and he was substituted shortly after. Gabriel Jesus added the sixth goal with a sharp finish into the top corner after being played in by Yamal. The match concluded with a seventh goal from Jesus, set up by Adeyemi running down the left wing. The victory kept Barcelona at the top of the league and set the stage for an intense rivalry with Real Madrid. In other La Liga action, Atlético Madrid secured a 4-0 home win over Osasuna in a one-sided match. Jonathan David, Lee Kang-in, Robin Le Normand, and Alex Baena all found the net for Diego Simeone’s team. The win moved Atlético into third place, five points behind Barcelona, ahead of their upcoming derby against Real Madrid on Saturday.
