The World Tennis Tour has introduced a new digital platform called World Tennis Performance, developed in partnership with the British company TennisViz. This platform is currently available to the 11,000 active players in the World Tennis Tour, as well as to coaches and support staff members that players choose to include in their personal space on the platform. It offers players access to detailed match data, performance insights, and in-depth video analysis. The goal is to help players on the secondary tennis circuits move beyond relying only on scores, basic statistics, or their personal feelings after a match. The platform collects match data, performance metrics, and especially video footage, which users can review to analyze specific moments in their games. Players can isolate and examine key situations such as serves, returns, and crucial points on demand. A unique feature of World Tennis Performance is the ability to create "point playlists" using different filters, add comments, and share specific sequences directly with a coach or a member of their support team. This allows for more focused and personalized training sessions. Players can also use the platform to study the serve and return of upcoming opponents or review their own performance during critical moments of a match. Alec Beckley, a member of the World Tennis Tour’s Player Panel, noted that performance indicators such as service dominance, efficiency under pressure, and points played at 30-30 have already helped his team refine their strategies. The video analysis is then used to determine whether errors stem from excessive passivity, impatience, or poor tactical decisions. This platform is more than just an addition to traditional statistics. It is designed to directly connect performance data with the work done by players and their coaches. By linking data with visual analysis, the tool aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of a player’s performance, helping them improve more effectively and efficiently.
