Fnac is currently offering a discount on the Samsung Odyssey G4 G40H 27-inch monitor during the French Days 2026 event. The monitor is now available for 199 euros, down from its usual price of 219 euros. This promotion is part of a larger retail event that runs until September 14, featuring various tech deals at multiple retailers such as Fnac/Darty, Amazon, Boulanger, and Cdiscount. The Samsung Odyssey G4 G40H is a high-performance monitor designed for gamers and professionals who require fast and smooth visuals. It features a 27-inch Full HD Fast IPS panel with a response time of just 1 ms GtG (gray to gray), ensuring minimal motion blur. The monitor can reach a refresh rate of up to 300 Hz via DisplayPort 1.2, but only 240 Hz is achievable using HDMI 2.0. It also supports AMD FreeSync Premium and G-Sync compatibility, which help eliminate screen tearing by synchronizing the monitor’s refresh rate with the graphics card’s output. Additional features include Black Equalizer and Virtual Aim Point, tools that can assist in gameplay by adjusting contrast and providing a visual aim guide. However, these functions may reduce overall contrast if used excessively. The monitor has a static contrast ratio of 1,000:1, typical for IPS panels, and a brightness level of 300 cd/m². While it supports HDR10, the brightness level is too low for true HDR performance, which generally requires higher brightness levels. The monitor provides extensive ergonomic adjustments, including height adjustment of up to 105 mm, tilt from -3° to +25°, and lateral rotation from -45° to +45°, along with a portrait mode pivot. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 2.0, and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, but it lacks a USB hub, USB-C port, and built-in speakers.
