John Ternus, a well-known analyst, recently mentioned the iPhone Duo, suggesting that Apple might be working on a home assistant device as "one more thing" during a product launch. While the HomePad has not been officially canceled, it could still be a potential new product from Apple, designed to compete with devices like Alexa but with a built-in screen. A leaker who previously uncovered details about the iPhone Duo in Apple's iOS source code has now shared information about a supposed HomePad. According to the leaker, the setup process for the HomePad would be similar to that of Apple's foldable phone, using the Home app for configuration. The leaker shared three screenshots showing the setup process, which includes a feature called Photo Face mode. This mode is currently available on the iPhone Duo in its StandBy mode, which turns the device into a display screen while it charges. The HomePad would reportedly offer the same Photo Face mode, allowing users to quickly select high-resolution photos during setup. At the same time, the entire photo library would be downloaded from iCloud in the background, ensuring a seamless experience. However, Apple has not officially teased the HomePad or provided any information suggesting it could exist. Despite this, the growing number of leaks has led many to believe that Apple could soon reveal the device. The HomePad’s design is said to potentially draw inspiration from the iMac G4, a classic Apple desktop computer from the early 2000s. However, this remains speculative, as no official details have been released. As for a potential release date, the leaker estimates October 13, 2026. However, Apple has not confirmed any event on that date, leaving the possibility of the HomePad’s launch uncertain. Until Apple provides more information, the HomePad remains a rumor, though one that is gaining more attention with each new leak.
