The 2027 FIFDH Impact Days highlight 12 documentary projects tackling social justice, migration, and political engagement, with campaigns aimed at driving global change.
FIFDH announces 2027 Impact Days projects
The International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights (FIFDH) has revealed the 12 documentary projects selected for the 2027 Impact Days programme, which will run from 6-15 March in Geneva. The programme focuses on using documentary film as a tool for social change, combining public events with a training initiative called the Impact Lab.
European projects highlight diverse issues
Among the selected projects, European-made films tackle a range of topics. #ClickRevolution explores youth political engagement in Croatia, while The Others examines migrant labor in Spain’s agricultural sector. Sisters Act documents efforts by Catholic religious sisters to combat human trafficking across Europe and Africa.
Stories from global communities
Other projects highlight global challenges. Smoking Shores follows a surfing community near a UK steelworks, while Still Here portrays a family dealing with terminal illness. Sara tells the story of a Kurdish girl in Syria who loses her leg in a bombing and seeks asylum in Europe.
Impact Lab supports campaign development
Selected filmmakers receive online training over several months to refine their campaigns and strategies. The programme culminates in Geneva in early March 2027, where participants will pitch their projects to professionals and organizations focused on human rights and social change.
List of 2027 Impact Lab projects
The 2027 Impact Lab includes films such as The Road to Bama, The Displaced, and Justice in the Land of Fog. Each project has a team of producers and impact producers working to ensure their campaigns reach broader audiences and effect real-world change.
