AI workshop program launched in Corsica

From October 22 to 31, the association émaho Corse is running IAventura, a workshop program focused on artificial intelligence. The initiative seeks to help residents understand how AI functions and whether it can be trusted, as these tools become more common in daily life.

Hands-on approach to AI education

IAventura offers participants a chance to explore artificial intelligence through practical, engaging activities. Participants take part in mini-games and use generative software to create a comic strip, providing a tangible way to understand how AI can produce content.

Program aims to balance perspectives on AI

Lina Vitalizi, event project manager and communications officer at the association, says the program seeks to help people understand AI without either idealizing or rejecting it. "You have to live with your time, you have to be able to accept it, it is a very good tool," she explains. The goal is to democratize AI use and show its potential while using it responsibly.

Workshops emphasize critical thinking and dialogue

The workshops include sessions on critical thinking, with real-world scenarios to teach participants how to verify information and recognize the risks of content generated by AI. The association aims to encourage discussions about AI across generations by bringing together people with different digital habits. Questionnaires are used at the end of each session to assess what participants have learned and their overall experience.

Program attracts diverse participants across Corsica

IAventura plans five dates across Corsica, spread between Haute-Corse and Corse-du-Sud, until the end of October. The first days of the program saw a wide range of participants, including retirees, working adults, and young people. Vitalizi highlights the importance of intergenerational dialogue, noting that participants were not separated into distinct groups.

Water cut affects parts of Corsica

A pipeline rupture caused a water cut in the Lupino and Macchione sectors. According to Minister Lefèvre Bastia, the affected communes will benefit from the state of natural disaster. Additionally, the DSP maritime reported five contracts canceled, and the Corsica Collectivity will seek guidance from the Council of State.
