French cycling official comments on track condition

Florian Rousseau, the national technical director of French cycling, spoke about the condition of the French track during the French Future Championships cycling event in Loudéac, Côtes-d'Armor. He emphasized that the current state of the track is not as high-quality as it was at the start of the 21st century.

Rousseau highlights past achievements

Rousseau pointed out that the French track was once among the best in the world, providing excellent conditions for cyclists to perform at their peak. This was particularly evident in the early 2000s when France hosted major international cycling events successfully.

Current track maintenance challenges

He explained that maintaining the same level of quality has become more difficult due to various factors, including changes in funding, infrastructure needs, and the increasing demands of modern cycling events. These challenges have made it harder to sustain the previous standards of track maintenance.

Future improvements under discussion

Rousseau mentioned that discussions are ongoing about how to improve the track's condition and bring it back to the standards that made it a top venue for cycling. He emphasized the importance of investing in the track to ensure the continued success of French cycling.
