Annaïck Le Ru has taken on the role of general director of Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, appointed in the spring to replace Philippe Germain. She will lead the regional agency for books and images alongside its president, Julie Gayet, who has confirmed she will stay in her position. The Region Centre-Val de Loire has expressed its support for Le Ru, with François Bonneau, president of the region, and Delphine Benassy, vice president in charge of culture and international cooperation, stating they wish to continue the work done with professionals, local authorities, and associations in the area. Le Ru holds a master's degree in economics and a DESS (a French postgraduate degree) in international, cultural, and tourism development. She began her career in Brest and Morocco before joining Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire. Previously, she worked as a mission holder, responsible for administration and finance, and as deputy general director under Philippe Germain. Her appointment as general director represents internal continuity, as she had already been involved for several years in shaping and managing the agency’s operations. Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire is a public cultural institution established by the Region Centre-Val de Loire and the French State. The agency operates in the fields of books and images, with responsibilities including supporting creative work, promoting artistic education, preserving audiovisual archives, and distributing cinema, particularly through the Cinémobile initiative. This mobile cinema unit brings films to various locations across the region, enhancing access to cultural content in different communities. Le Ru’s background in economics and cultural development, combined with her extensive experience within Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire, positions her to continue the agency’s mission effectively. Her leadership is expected to build on existing collaborations and initiatives, ensuring the continued support of cultural and creative activities in the region. With the backing of the region’s leadership, Le Ru is poised to guide Ciclic Centre-Val de Loire through its ongoing projects and future challenges.
