The Crucial X10 4 To external hard drive/SSD is currently available for 399.99 € on Amazon Prime Day, which is about 19% cheaper than its usual price. This portable SSD uses the USB-C Gen 3.2 2x2 standard, allowing it to connect to a wide range of devices. The drive’s manufacturer, Micron, claims it can read and write data at speeds of up to 2100 Mo/s, which is significantly faster than many standard storage devices. It is also praised for being lightweight and not overheating during use, making it convenient for on-the-go data storage and transfer. Despite these advantages, the Crucial X10 4 To has some limitations. While its actual performance is slightly lower than the advertised speeds, it lacks an IP certification, which means it is not officially rated for use in harsh environments such as rain or dust. Additionally, it does not come with a USB-A adapter, which may be necessary for devices that only have USB-A ports. Micron has updated its consumer SSD lineup with a focus on reliability, and the Crucial X10 4 To is seen as a solid option for everyday tasks like transferring files or performing occasional backups. The drive is made of plastic, which contributes to its lightweight design but may also affect its durability. The price reduction is based on a comparison between the lowest price offered on Prime Day and the average of the lowest prices from all retailers over the past month. This calculation excludes some online shops, particularly Chinese importers, due to potential differences in tax policies that could affect the price comparison. As an alternative, the Crucial X10 Pro model offers a more modest design but provides more consistent performance. It is ideal for users who frequently handle large files, such as video editors or graphic designers, due to its reliable speed and performance. While the Crucial X10 4 To remains a cost-effective choice for general use, the Crucial X10 Pro is better suited for more demanding tasks.
