The queens from Drag Race France Season 4 are set to embark on a theatrical tour with a new show that blends gothic themes, horror, and drama. This production, which initially showcased individual queens through separate scenes, has now transformed into a unified gothic fable. The set design, inspired by the universe of Beetlejuice, moves away from the previous candy pink aesthetic and polished wigs to a haunted manor setting, complete with spider webs and a crooked stage.
Thomas Jolly, the artistic director of the tour, has reimagined the show with the help of a team of creative talents, including Kevin Vivès, Samy Zerrouki, set designer Hélène Fief, and costume supervisor Aymerick Zana. Jolly, who was a judge for Season 4 and had been invited by producer Raphaël Cioffi after the success of Drag Race France All Stars in 2025, emphasized the importance of giving the show a narrative structure similar to a theatrical production.
The show’s storyline revolves around the queens settling into a dusty old manor, the former Nicky Doll Palace, which is haunted by its former manager—a character inspired by Charles Alloncle, a UDR deputy involved in an inquiry commission on public audiovisual that targeted Drag Race France. Jolly explained that the narrative is a fable, drawing on French traditions of reimagining real characters into fictional ones, without directly referencing current events.
The production incorporates elements from pop culture and horror films such as Scream, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, as well as influences from Elizabethan theater and ancient playwrights like Seneca. It also honors queer icons, such as Coccinelle, a 1950s cabaret figure and trans activist. Each queen brings a unique performance, including Lana Cotta’s slow motorcycle dance, Margarette’s comedic act, Creatine Price’s opera piece, and others. The show runs at the Casino de Paris until October 17 before touring across France.
