French rugby will be celebrated at the **Night of Rugby** on Monday, September 28, as the 22nd edition honors outstanding achievements from the 2025-2026 season. Thirteen trophies will be awarded across various categories, recognizing players, female athletes, staff, referees, and clubs. The ceremony will take place at the Olympia, a few days after the restart of the TOP 14 and PRO D2 leagues, which are the top two professional rugby competitions in France. Among the nominees for the TOP 14 Grand Prix, a prestigious individual award, are Matthieu Jalibert, Harry Plummer, and Jack Willis. Jalibert, a player from Toulouse, previously won this award in 2025 and is among the French internationals nominated, along with Louis Bielle-Biarrey and Thomas Ramos. The Bordeaux winger, Bielle-Biarrey, had won this honor last year and is once again in the running. The revelation category, which highlights emerging talent, features three centers: Fabien Brau-Boirie, Auguste Cadot, and Kalvin Gourgues. Gourgues is also among the five candidates for the best try award, competing with Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Émilien Gailleton, Joris Jurand, and Jiuta Wainiqolo. In PRO D2, the second-tier league, Setareki Bituniyata, Raymond Nu’u, and Michael Ruru from clubs in Provence Rugby, Colomiers, and Vannes respectively, are nominated. Their club staffs are also up for awards in their category. In the TOP 14, the staffs of Montpellier, Toulouse, and Pau will compete for a trophy, following three seasons marked by varied outcomes, including a return to prominence, a new Toulouse title, and Pau’s first qualification. Among the women, Carla Arbez, Élodie Fernandez, and Mathilde Lazarko are in contention for the best Elite 1 player trophy. Lazarko is also among the nominees for French internationals, alongside Pauline Barrat and Léa Champon. For the Supersevens, a seven-a-side rugby tournament, Léonard Boucasse, Nathan Gagnac, and Marco Moneta represent the UBB among men, while Cléo Hagel, Salomé Perraudin, and Hawa Tounkara have been selected among women. Pierre Brousset, Ludovic Cayre, and Luc Ramos are again nominated for the referee of the year trophy. The LOU, Racing 92, and UBB will compete for the social commitment award, which recognizes efforts to promote rugby in the community. The event will not only honor the competition for the TOP 14 player title but also acknowledge the broader contributions to French rugby over the past season.
