Fiona Ferro returns to WTA rankings

Fiona Ferro has re-entered the WTA rankings, securing her place approximately five years after leaving it. Her return comes as she competes in the Queretaro tournament in Mexico, which offers a prize fund of $125,000.

Ferro's tournament debut and goals

Ferro is seeded third in the Queretaro tournament and will begin her campaign on Tuesday by facing English player Sofia Johnson. She aims to use this competition to solidify her position for a potential spot in the Australian Open.

Ferro's dual tournament participation

In addition to Queretaro, Ferro is set to compete in the BJK Cup, a team event in tennis. She has been called up by Alizé Cornet to join a French team that includes Diane Parry, Léolia Jeanjean, and Kristina Mladenovic, who will face Australia on November 21 and 22 in Portel.

Other French players in Queretaro

Selena Janicijevic, another French player, is scheduled to compete in Queretaro, facing Canadian Ana Grubor on Monday. Léolia Jeanjean, seeded second in the tournament, will debut at a career-high ranking of 90th in the WTA, playing against Carole Monnet.

Additional French participation

Alice Ramé is also participating in the tournament in Mexico, where she will face the eighth-seeded Argentine player Nadia Podoroska. This adds to the presence of several French players in the competition.
