Radiohead, the British rock band known for their innovative music and thought-provoking lyrics, is set to return to Australia for a major tour in May 2027. This will be their first visit to the country in 15 years and will include 16 shows across three cities: Perth, Melbourne, and Sydney. The tour will also extend to Japan, where the band will perform five concerts at the GMO Arena Saitama near Tokyo, marking their first appearance in the country in 19 years.
The Australian leg of the tour will begin on 3 May with four performances at Perth’s RAC Arena. This will be followed by six shows in Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena and six more in Sydney at the Afterpay Arena. Radiohead previously toured Australia in 2011, following the release of their album The King of Limbs. Since then, frontman Thom Yorke has made solo appearances in Australia, including a 2024 tour. During one of those shows in Melbourne, Yorke temporarily left the stage after being heckled by a pro-Palestine protester but returned to perform the band’s 1997 hit Karma Police.
Radiohead has not released a new studio album since A Moon Shaped Pool in 2016. Despite this, demand for tickets to their upcoming shows has been high, with fans rushing to secure spots once the tour was announced. The band will reunite after a seven-year hiatus, following a series of European performances in 2023.
To ensure fair access to tickets, fans can register for the Australian shows through an online portal managed by co-promoter Frontier Touring. The portal opened on Monday and will remain open until 5pm AEST on Thursday. Each registration is treated equally, regardless of when it is submitted, and fans are limited to purchasing four tickets per city. Those who register successfully will receive instructions via email starting on Friday, with ticket sales expected to begin the following week.
