Hack 'n' Stack, a chaotic co-op party game, launches with 24 levels, 4 playable characters, and fully physical gameplay.
Game release confirmed
Dodo Tako, a creative division of the independent Quebec studio Triple Boris, has officially announced the release of Hack 'n' Stack. The game is available in more than 10 languages on Steam (PC/Mac) and Nintendo Switch at a price of 10.99 €.Gameplay and mechanics
Hack 'n' Stack is a party game where cooperation turns into chaos, playable up to 4 players locally or online. The game involves gathering resources, building walls and turrets, and defending installations against increasingly tough waves of enemies.Unpredictable interactions
Players are not obligated to remain allies for long, as blocks, stunned enemies, and even teammates can become improvised weapons in this fully physical gameplay environment. The result is a clever mix of tower defense and cooperative chaos, where the best strategy is sometimes to blow everything up, including one's own team.Game features and content
Key features include 24 levels spread across four distinct zones (the forest, the village, the coast, the mountains), each with its own enemies and challenges. There are four playable characters (anthropomorphic animals) and more than 750 combinations of hats and weapons for customizing characters.Enemy variety and gameplay flexibility
There are five types of enemies with varied behaviors, from small invaders to armored giants, to continuously renew strategies. The game supports local (shared screen) and online co-op for up to four players.Art style and visual appeal
The art direction is cartoon-style and hand-drawn, praised during the Steam Next Fest for its stylized visuals and rich textures. Before its official release, Hack 'n' Stack offered a free demo during the Steam Next Fest, allowing thousands of players to discover the game in advance.Community involvement and development
The feedback collected directly influenced the final adjustments of the title. "In a sector where player expectations are constantly evolving, our ability to remain agile is essential. The feedback from our community plays a key role in the development of our games," said Simon Dansereau, co-founder and CEO of Triple Boris.
