LG offers discounted OLED monitor

The LG Ultragear 27GX704A-B is a 27-inch fluid OLED screen intended for gamers and graphic designers, currently available at 349.99 euros instead of 599.99 euros. It is being sold on Amazon with a 42 percent discount for a limited time.

Features for gaming and design

The screen offers absolute fluidity at 240 Hz with an almost instant response time of 0.03 ms, making it suitable for competitive games. It uses OLED technology with a glossy coating that enhances color brilliance and eliminates visual grain.

Connectivity and display quality

The monitor includes modern connectivity options such as two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a USB hub. It uses MLA+ technology with True Black 400 certification, ensuring deep blacks and high contrast for immersive visuals.

Limitations of the glossy panel

While the glossy panel improves image clarity, it is sensitive to reflections in well-lit environments. Text readability may also be slightly reduced for office use, and HDR settings require manual calibration in Windows to avoid washed-out colors.

Target audience and considerations

The LG Ultragear 27GX704A-B is aimed at gamers who prioritize high frame rates and visual immersion. However, those needing a matte finish for office work or dealing with bright lighting may prefer a traditional IPS panel instead. Potential buyers should ensure their gaming space can be darkened to fully enjoy the screen's features.
