The Always-On Display feature on certain iPhone models allows users to view important information on their Lock Screen without unlocking the device. This feature keeps the Lock Screen dimmed but visible, enabling users to check the time, notifications, or other widgets. However, some users may encounter issues where the Always-On Display does not remain active as expected. Not all iPhone models support the Always-On Display feature. The supported models include the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max, iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max. The feature is enabled by default but can be toggled on or off in Settings > Display & Brightness > Always On Display. There are several reasons why the Always-On Display might turn off. For instance, if the iPhone is face-down, obstructed from view, or not near a paired Apple Watch, the display may turn off. Additionally, if there is no interaction with the phone for extended periods, the display may also turn off. The display will also turn off when connecting to a CarPlay session or using the Continuity Camera, likely to minimize distractions or conserve battery. Low Power Mode and Focus modes can also affect the Always-On Display. Low Power Mode can be toggled off via the Control Center or in the Battery settings. On newer models, users may also want to disable Adaptive Power in the same Power Mode menu, as it can automatically re-enable Low Power Mode when the battery falls below 20 percent. The Always-On Display will not function while the iPhone is in Sleep Focus mode. Users can disable Sleep Focus through the Control Center or by adjusting settings in the Health app. Other Focus modes allow users to choose whether the Always-On Display remains enabled. If the Always-On Display is not functioning correctly, users may want to toggle the Raise to Wake feature under Settings > Display & Brightness or restart their iPhone to resolve any temporary issues.
