On 3 and 4 October, the Greener Festival returns for its 11th edition, hosted at the Château and the MJC de Montchat in Lyon. Organized by the local association The Greener Good, the event focuses on the ecological transition and emphasizes information and awareness this year. The festival brings together over 60 exhibitors, including associations, artisans, and community groups, who showcase alternatives to conventional daily life practices. These include everything from community gardens and microbreweries to stands that promote the reuse of second-hand items. Visitors to the festival can pick up a guide at the entrance that lists more than 900 addresses for living sustainably in Lyon. The event offers a wide range of activities, such as lectures, participatory workshops, round table discussions, live podcasts, and games, all centered around three main themes: better information, ecology, and daily consumption. There are also activities focused on making and expressing oneself, encouraging attendees to engage in creative and practical learning. The festival runs from Saturday, October 3, at 10 a.m. until Sunday, October 4, at 7 p.m. Entry to the event is free, but most of the activities require advance reservations and are paid. This format allows for a more organized and accessible experience for attendees, ensuring that space is available for all interested participants. The Greener Festival has become a key event in Lyon's environmental calendar, drawing in locals and visitors who are interested in sustainable living and community-based initiatives. With its focus on information and practical solutions, the festival aims to inspire and equip attendees with the knowledge and tools needed to make more environmentally conscious choices in their daily lives.
