Bridge repairs complete in Antisanti

The Campu Querciu bridge in Antisanti, which had partially collapsed and was damaged by recent weather disruptions, has undergone urgent reinforcement work that ended this Tuesday evening. The repairs allow normal truck traffic up to 40 tonnes to resume, easing concerns for citrus growers who rely on the bridge to transport goods to the port of Bastia.

Citrus exports depend on bridge

Many citrus groves in the region depend on the Campu Querciu bridge to access the territorial road and the port of Bastia, which is crucial for exporting their production. The bridge's partial collapse had raised fears of disruptions to the local economy, particularly for farmers who depend on timely transportation of their crops.

D32 road closure planned

The D32 road in Siscu, weakened by repeated weather disruptions, will be closed during the day starting November 9. This closure is necessary to carry out repairs but will be scheduled to avoid conflicts with agricultural activities that cannot be conducted at night.

Temporary traffic adjustments

The road closure on the D32 will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Monday to Friday, with alternating traffic restored at noon on Wednesdays to allow school transport to use the road. These adjustments aim to balance the need for repairs with the daily needs of the local community.

Community concerns addressed

In response to concerns raised by residents and the municipality of Siscu, temporary measures such as the creation of a pedestrian route and shuttle services have been introduced. These efforts aim to minimize the impact on daily life for residents of the affected hamlet.
