Pharmacist assistant group seeks territorial representatives and updates on training reforms in France.
CNP PPO seeks territorial representatives
Élodie Martin, a spokesperson for the Conseil national professionnel des préparateurs en pharmacie d’officine (CNP PPO), said the organization is currently missing representatives in the Southwest, Paris, and the North. The CNP PPO, established in 2023, represents pharmacist assistants in training and professional development matters and is now seeking volunteers to fill these roles.Role of territorial representatives
During the CNP PPO’s first annual seminar on October 4, held at Porphyre and Le Moniteur des pharmacies in Paris 16th, the responsibilities of territorial representatives were outlined. According to Élodie Martin, these representatives are tasked with promoting the role of pharmacist assistants in their regions by engaging with apprenticeship training centers (CFA), local health professional communities (CPTS), and attending local events.Training framework update
The seminar also included an update on training developments. On September 28, the CNP PPO submitted a revised reference framework for the optional post-Deust license for pharmacist assistants to the National Parity Commission for Employment and Professional Training (CPNE-FP). The framework is now being reviewed by the Conference of Deans of Pharmacy Faculties.Future of professional development requirements
The renewal of continuing professional development (DPC) priorities, proposed by the CNP of each profession to the Ministry of Health, is delayed until next year. The draft law on the financing of the Social Security (PLFSS) for 2027, expected to be voted on by the end of the year, plans to reform the DPC system and eliminate the National Agency for DPC (ANDPC). Pharmacist assistants, who are not under a professional order, would still need to complete DPC but would have six years instead of three.CNP PPO highlights training obligation
The CNP PPO reminded licensed pharmacists of their DPC requirements during the Federation of French Pharmaceutical Unions (FSPF) congress on September 26 and 27. The CNP PPO had a stand at the event for the second consecutive year, emphasizing the importance of ongoing training for pharmacist assistants.
