The Solix Nexus ANC are wireless earphones available at the Dutch discount store Action for 9.95 €, or slightly less during promotions. They are marketed as a flagship product at this price point, offering features such as intra-auricular design, active noise cancellation (ANC), touch controls, and a hands-free kit. Available in white, black, and blue, the earphones have a distinctive design with two lines on the shells for an "aerodynamic" look and metal-finished stems. Despite their appealing design, the manufacturing quality is described as basic, with visible glue marks, irregular assembly, and a glossy stripe on the plastic case. Control is managed through touch gestures on the shells, with single, double, or long presses handling playback, track switching, and ANC modes. Volume is adjusted using three presses on each side, which some users find inconvenient. The touch area is small, leading to missed commands initially, though users can adapt over time. The earphones lack port sensors but include a voice guide in English. The Bluetooth connectivity is described as minimal, with no pairing button on the case. The earphones automatically enter pairing mode when removed from the case but require manual disconnection when switching devices. The earphones do not connect to any mobile application, meaning users cannot check battery levels on iOS, adjust equalizer settings, or customize controls. Solix does not provide details about the acoustic design of the earphones. The bass reproduction is described as exaggerated and slightly imprecise, with a trailing effect and strong impact from bass-heavy tracks. However, the midrange and high frequencies remain balanced, contributing to a warm overall sound. The ANC system is basic and only moderately effective, offering limited noise reduction in urban environments and nearby voices. The rigid silicone tips provide some passive noise isolation, reducing metallic clicks and similar sounds. The Transparency mode slightly enhances ambient sound but does not significantly improve clarity for conversations. The earphones last around 6 hours and 50 minutes with ANC on, outperforming the AirPods 4 ANC in battery life. Despite their limitations, the Solix Nexus ANC are seen as a reasonably complete option for under 10 €, assuming users are willing to accept the trade-offs. They are often compared to the more expensive Btootos A90 Pro, which has similar sound quality, and the CMF Buds 2, priced at 36 €, which is recommended for users prioritizing sound accuracy and full feature sets.
