A former politician who worked with an alleged victim of media personality Alan Jones described to a Sydney court how the man appeared unusually "sunken and diminished" during a meeting with Jones at his Circular Quay apartment. The man, referred to in court as complainant C, was known to be outgoing and engaged in conversation, but during the meeting with Jones, he became anxious and uncomfortable. He sat in silence, avoiding eye contact, which was highly unusual for someone who was typically very talkative. C, who had previously worked as Jones’s driver, accompanied his then-employer to a meeting with Jones about a board role. The meeting took place at Jones’s waterfront property, and C described the encounter as leaving him anxious. His account was challenged by the defense, as he had sent Jones a text message at the time expressing that he enjoyed seeing him. The court heard that C had spoken to several people over the years about being touched inappropriately by Jones, and this was the second alleged victim to give evidence at the trial. Throughout the day, the court heard from multiple friends and colleagues who testified that C had confided in them about being indecently assaulted by Jones. One former colleague recalled a time when C was driving along the Hume Highway and casually mentioned that Jones had once reached into his crotch and squeezed it. When asked how he responded, the witness said he apologized for using crude language and said he replied, "What the fuck?" C then said, "That's just Alan, that's his behaviour," and described Jones as "a very powerful man within 2GB." Other witnesses shared similar accounts, including C’s father-in-law, whose police statement was read in court. He mentioned that C had told him in 2023 that Jones had kissed him and pushed him up against a wall. Another school friend said C had alleged that Jones sent inappropriate messages about genitals. Other colleagues and friends described various instances in which C referenced being grabbed or kissed by Jones, often in a joking or casual manner. The trial continues before Judge Glenn Walsh.
