Mayotte's second hospital site enters new preparatory phase with soil and building diagnostics tender, aiming to open by 2036.
Project enters new preparatory phase
The construction project for the second site of the Mayotte Hospital Center (CHM) in Combani has reached a new preparatory stage. In a tender notice published on October 19, 2026, the CHM is seeking companies to conduct soil and building pollution diagnostics on the site intended to host the future hospital. The objective is to better understand the condition of the land before the construction of the future facility, which is currently expected to open by 2036, according to the CHM.Contract divided into two parts
The contract is divided into two lots: the first concerns the analysis of soil pollution, while the second focuses on building diagnostics. Interested companies have until 2:00 PM on November 20, 2026, to submit their bids. According to the tender notice, the project must be fully funded by state funds.Part of broader preparatory work
This consultation is part of a series of preparatory studies for the future construction site. At the beginning of October, the CHM also published a tender for topographic surveys, intended to precisely characterize the terrain. Geotechnical studies are also the subject of a consultation, with the deadline for submission of bids set for October 21.Future hospital aims to improve healthcare
This future facility is intended to strengthen the healthcare offering on the island, as the CHM currently has 573 beds and places spread across five sites. At this stage, these contracts concern preparatory studies and diagnostics: they do not indicate that construction of the second hospital has begun.
