A 23-year-old French law student, Amine Kessaci, fights against drug traffickers who threaten his life, as France battles a growing mafia threat.
Young Activist Faces Threats
Amine Kessaci, a 23-year-old law student in Marseille, is one of France’s most protected individuals due to threats from the country’s largest drug cartel. He lives in a social housing unit but sleeps in a different location every night to avoid potential attacks by hired killers.
Voicing Opposition to Drug Traffickers
Kessaci says drug traffickers and narco-terrorists use only one method: violence. After the murder of his two brothers, he became a prominent voice in the fight against drug trafficking gangs, which are spreading across France in a manner similar to Latin America.
Threats to Dissenting Voices
He explains that drug traffickers view anyone who denounces their activities or organizes collective solidarity as a threat to their influence. As a result, they attempt to silence such voices, and Kessaci claims they are targeting him specifically for this reason.
Legal Battle Against Organized Crime
Since October 19, a courtroom in Aix-en-Provence has become the focal point of France’s legal efforts against mafioso drug traffickers. The government asserts that these groups now pose a greater threat to national security than terrorism.
