StarCraft, one of the oldest and most popular franchises from Blizzard, is set to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The original game was released in 1998, and StarCraft 2 was launched in 2010, followed by several expansions in the years that followed. Recently, during BlizzCon in the United States, Blizzard announced a new shooter themed around StarCraft for 2030. While players had hoped for a StarCraft 3, new games set in the StarCraft universe are always welcome. JoyToy, known for its high-quality toys for brands such as Warhammer, has partnered with Blizzard Entertainment to sell collectible figures representing the iconic factions of the Terrans, Zergs, and Protoss. The Terrans are represented by a "Terran Marine" set and a "Terran Ghost" set. The figures are approximately 9 cm tall and come with many accessories, such as different weapons and helmeted heads. The Protoss are represented by three Zealot figures, which are accompanied by several accessories, such as energy shields and different hands. The Zergs are represented by one of their most recognizable units, the Hydralisk. The Hydralisk figures come with interchangeable claws and spikes. Archon Studios has recently released a large board game featuring many highly detailed figures, which looks very entertaining. These figures can be purchased through the IGN Store Europe. The board game appears to be a new way for fans to engage with the StarCraft universe, offering a strategic and tactile experience. The game includes a variety of scenarios and challenges that reflect the complex strategies of the original game. This new release is expected to attract both longtime fans and newcomers to the StarCraft series.
