Disruption to Paris bus lines

A local social movement will disrupt RATP buses in Paris on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Five lines will not operate and nineteen others will run with reduced service. Nighttime trips are also affected.

Five bus lines suspended

Five lines—26, 38, 40, 60, and PC—will not operate on Thursday throughout the day. This list is featured in the Bonjour RATP traffic information bulletin, which distinguishes fully suspended services from lines with reduced frequency. Travelers who usually use these buses will therefore need to plan an alternative route from the first trip of the day.

Impact of line 38 suspension

The suspension of line 38 affects a north-south route used to reach areas such as the Gare du Nord, Châtelet, Luxembourg, and Porte d'Orléans. These stops are listed on the route presented by RATP. Passengers who usually take part of this journey by bus will need to find a metro connection or use another line in service.

Other suspended lines

Lines 26, 40, and 60, as well as the PC bus, are also announced as stopped. For residents and employees who use these connections for local travel, the cancellation of an entire line may force them to walk to a metro station or make a trip with a transfer. No departures are announced for these five lines on October 29 according to the consulted forecasts.

Nineteen lines with reduced service

Nineteen lines—20, 46, 48, 56, 57, 76, 77, 86, 87, 96, 102, 109, 115, 121, 122, 129, 202, 245, and 318—will operate on Thursday but with reduced service throughout the day. RATP does not provide, in this general bulletin, a single frequency applicable to all these lines.

Effect of reduced frequency

The consequences will therefore depend on the trip. On a maintained line, a less frequent bus can lengthen the waiting time at the stop and complicate a transfer with the metro, RER, or train. Travelers with fixed appointments, especially for work or a medical appointment, should consult the next departures rather than rely on usual schedules.

No metro or RER closure

The movement affects the bus network operated by RATP. The published forecasts do not constitute an announcement of a general closure of the metro or RER. Travelers may however encounter, on other lines, planned works independent of the social movement: the RATP work schedule allows them to be distinguished from bus cancellations.

Night services affected

The operator's bulletin also indicates Noctilien services not provided during the night of Wednesday, October 28, to Thursday, October 29. The numbers of the affected night lines were not readable in the version of the bulletin accessible at the time of consultation. People returning late should check their specific line before relying on a night departure.

How to plan travel

To plan travel, the page dedicated to bus traffic provides access to updated information by line. The RATP schedules section allows you to search for a bus or a Noctilien and check the next departures at a stop. This check is particularly useful on Thursday morning and in the late afternoon, when transfers need to be made at a specific time.

Date and time of disruption

The forecasts apply to Thursday, October 29, 2026, and for the night services mentioned, to the preceding night. The actual schedules offered may be updated by the operator throughout the day.
