The national U15 summer rollerski challenge is being held this weekend in Prémanon, a town in the Jura region of France. This event, which was previously held alongside the French championships, is now taking place independently. Organized by the Haut-Jura Ski club, the competition will bring together nearly 250 young skiers for a weekend of competition. Rollerskiing is a sport that mimics cross-country skiing using wheeled skis, allowing athletes to train and compete on roads and trails. The event follows a traditional schedule, with classic sprints on Saturday, starting at 10:30 AM for men and 2:00 PM for women. On Sunday, individual skating events will take place, beginning at 9:00 AM. After the two days of competition, overall rankings for both men and women will be determined by adding up their points from each event. Additionally, a ranking of the participating clubs will be established. The full schedule for the 2026 national U15 summer challenge includes a course reconnaissance on Friday, October 9, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, followed by a race committee meeting at 5:30 PM at the Tuffes stadium. On Saturday, October 10, the competition will begin with U15 men's sprint qualification at 9:00 AM, followed by the men's sprint final stages at 10:30 AM. An award ceremony for the U15 men will take place at 12:00 PM, after which U15 women's sprint qualification will begin at 12:30 PM. The women's sprint final stages are scheduled for 2:00 PM, with an award ceremony for the U15 women at 3:30 PM. On Sunday, October 11, the event will feature 5 km individual men's free technique and 4 km individual women's free technique races, both starting at 9:00 AM. The free technique allows skiers to use a variety of movements, making it a popular event in rollerski competitions. The weekend will conclude with the final results and rankings, marking the end of the 2026 national U15 summer rollerski challenge.
