Book presentation in Toulouse

Clémence Guetté, a member of parliament for France Insoumise and vice-president of the National Assembly, will present her book Pour une politique de l’amitié in Toulouse on October 16, 2026, at 7 p.m. at the Osète hall. The event was announced by LFI Haute Garonne, the local branch of France Insoumise in the Haute Garonne department.

Content of the book

In Pour une politique de l’amitié, Guetté proposes to rethink the place of friendship in society. She argues for recognizing friendly bonds and granting them new rights, suggesting that such relationships should be acknowledged and supported by public policy.

Political vision outlined

Guetté defends a political vision based on solidarity, mutual aid, and human relationships. Her approach contrasts with the individualistic logic of capitalism, which emphasizes personal gain over collective well-being.

Critique of opposing ideologies

The book also critiques the ideas promoted by the far right. Guetté positions her approach as an alternative to the individualism of capitalism and the divisive rhetoric often found in far-right political movements.
