BIBLIO’SET is a family board game centered around books, where players build their ideal library by sharing cards representing different genres and types of books. The game, developed by Bordeaux-based studio Collective Adventure, allows players to exchange cards with one another, with the active player selecting which card to add to their library. The project is led by Alexandre Bernard and Julie Gruet, who also illustrate the game. BIBLIO’SET is designed for 1 to 4 players, with game durations of about 15 to 20 minutes, and is accessible from 8 years old. The game's mechanics are based on sharing, choices, and interaction between players, with the goal of building a library that gives the most inspiration points. Unlike many games where each player carefully keeps their resources, here the cards circulate between the players. Giving the right card to the right player can become a real strategy, as a card that is not particularly interesting to one player can be exactly the one that allows another player to complete their collection. The game offers different experiences depending on the number of players. With 3 or 4 players, exchanges take center stage, while with 2 players, the game becomes more tense and strategic. Solo play offers a calmer experience, designed as a small strategic puzzle that can be replayed to try to do better. BIBLIO’SET requires no particular knowledge of literature, as the cards represent different genres and types of books, and it is how the players associate them that counts for building their library. The game is aimed at passionate readers as well as people who simply love the world of books, at families as well as groups of friends. Its goal is not to transmit literary knowledge, but to create a playing field conducive to exchanges around our tastes and imaginations. The idea of sharing extends beyond the game's mechanics with the Living Library, a universe developed by Collective Adventure around BIBLIO’SET. To accompany the launch of the game, the studio invited content creators and members of its community to share a book that personally marked them and the anecdote that accompanies it. A selection of these testimonies will be compiled in the Living Library Notebook, a digital content offered as part of the pre-sale campaign of the game on the Ulule platform. BIBLIO’SET is manufactured in France, at Game In France in Nancy, which opened this same year in April. The materials used are mainly recycled or from sustainably managed forests, notably certified PEFC or FSC. The cards are grouped with a kraft paper band, without unnecessary plastic. The compact format of the game also responds to the studio's desire: "create big games in small boxes" in order to limit the materials and volume needed for the product. A pre-sale campaign for BIBLIO’SET was launched on Ulule in September 2026. The campaign reached 400% of its goal on the first day, testifying to the enthusiasm generated by this new creation from the Bordeaux-based studio. Collective Adventure is an independent studio for the creation and publishing of board games with impact, founded by Laura Degracia and Jérémy Buisson. The studio develops its own universes and also supports institutions, collectivities, and organizations in the creation of custom impact games.
