Ring Video Doorbell Wired has been named the best affordable connected doorbell in a recent comparison by Rick, known online as @lesnums_bonplan. The device is currently available for 29.99 euros at Amazon. Rick tested 16 models in the laboratory, and Ring Video Doorbell Wired emerged as the top choice for its price range. Ring positions this model as the most affordable connected doorbell in its lineup and one of the least expensive options with an onboard camera available on the market. The Ring Video Doorbell Wired excels in image quality, both during the day and at night, and it features effective motion detection. Its compact and customizable design also adds to its appeal. However, the doorbell has a few limitations, including the absence of a battery or a microSD port, no video settings, and no chime included. These omissions mean that some features require a paid subscription to Ring Protect, especially since the lack of a microSD port means users cannot store video locally. Despite these drawbacks, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired delivers very satisfactory performance in both audio and video quality, along with reliable motion detection for a doorbell at its price point. The absence of a battery and a chime might be a downside for some users. For example, the Powergiant Wireless Video Doorbell includes a chime and remains a benchmark in this category. Rick notes that while the Ring Video Doorbell Wired offers excellent value for money, it lacks certain features that might be expected in a connected doorbell. The absence of a battery means it must be connected to a power source, which could be a limitation for some users. Overall, the Ring Video Doorbell Wired is a strong contender for those looking for an affordable and effective connected doorbell.
