A deputy principal at a college in Maurepas, Yvelines, has been placed under formal investigation for the rape of a minor and the possession of child pornography images, according to the Versailles prosecutor's office. The investigation, which began on April 16, spans from 2020 to 2026 for the possession of child pornography images and from 2025 to 2026 for the rape charges. The accused is a 38-year-old man who is suspected of raping a 14-year-old student who was enrolled at the Louis-Pergaud college in Maurepas. The incident is believed to have occurred while he was working at the institution. The accused was arrested on April 14 outside of school hours at his official residence, which was searched along with his office, according to the rectorate of the Versailles academy. He has been placed under judicial supervision and is prohibited from engaging in activities involving minors, meaning he cannot continue in his profession. He was suspended from his duties, and a replacement was assigned to complete the leadership team after the Easter vacation period ended. The victim, who was 14 years old at the time of the incident, was enrolled in another school at the request of her family for the remainder of the school year. The family received daily support from the team at her new school and from the departmental education services. This move was made to ensure the victim's safety and well-being during this difficult time. The case has raised concerns about the safety of students in educational institutions and the need for strict oversight of staff members. Authorities are working closely with the victim's family and the educational community to provide the necessary support and ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
