Council of State reviews education questionnaire

On Tuesday, October 13, the Council of State examined a questionnaire on sexual and gender-based violence that the Ministry of National Education plans to distribute starting in early November. The questionnaire is intended for students from senior kindergarten classes up to the final year of high school.

Questionnaire content revealed

Ouest-France obtained a version of the questionnaire intended for students in the CE2 and CM2 grades, which are typically ages 8 to 10. The publication revealed some of the questions that could be asked of children as part of this initiative.

Focus on sensitive topics

The questions reportedly cover topics such as identifying inappropriate behavior, understanding personal boundaries, and recognizing signs of abuse. The aim is to educate young students on these issues in an age-appropriate manner.

Controversy and concern

Some critics have raised concerns about the appropriateness of discussing such sensitive topics with young children, while others support the initiative as a necessary step toward prevention and education. The Council of State’s review is seen as a critical step in finalizing the questionnaire’s content.
