Disney has named Cathleen Taff as the new president of its newly merged Disney Entertainment – Studios and Consumer Products division. Starting October 4, the global licensing and publishing operations will be integrated under the Disney Entertainment – Studios umbrella. Meanwhile, the Disney Parks Merchandise, Disney Store, and DisneyStore.com will remain under the Disney Experiences division. Taff most recently served as president of Disney Consumer Products and Retail, where she oversaw the licensing and retail operations for Disney's global merchandise. The move reflects Disney's ongoing efforts to align its various business units more closely, particularly as it seeks to maximize the value of its intellectual property across different platforms. By bringing together the Studios and Consumer Products teams, Disney hopes to create a more cohesive strategy for developing and marketing its brands globally. Taff brings over two decades of experience within the Disney organization, having held various leadership roles across different divisions. Her appointment underscores Disney’s focus on integrating its entertainment and consumer products divisions to better leverage its vast portfolio of characters and stories. With this new structure, Disney aims to strengthen its market presence and continue delivering innovative products and experiences to its fans worldwide.
