A survey conducted by Elabe for BFMTV suggests that a majority of the French population would support a new mobilization by the Yellow Vest movement. The results, published on September 16, show that 66% of those surveyed would approve of such a mobilization. Within this group, 37% expressed active support, while 29% showed sympathy. On the other hand, 21% would disapprove, and 13% said they would remain indifferent. The survey also highlights growing concerns about the future of personal purchasing power. Nearly three-quarters (71%) of respondents expect their purchasing power to decrease in the coming months. Of those, 38% anticipate only a slight decline, while 33% expect a significant drop. This concern is especially strong among people aged 50 and older, those living in rural areas or small towns, and car owners who drive vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. A smaller portion—19%—believe their purchasing power will stay the same, and 9% expect it to improve, with only 7% predicting a slight improvement and 2% a major one. Fuel price increases have also become a major financial concern for many French citizens. Nearly half (46%) of the respondents said the rise in fuel prices has significantly affected their budgets, while 39% said the impact is limited, and 14% reported no noticeable effect. Those most affected include people living in rural communes or small towns, as well as working individuals, particularly employees and those in intermediate professions. In response to these financial pressures, many French people have had to make lifestyle changes. Almost half (42%) reported reducing or canceling vacations or weekend trips, and 40% said they have cut back on shopping or certain food purchases. Additionally, 38% have reduced their outings to restaurants, cinemas, or bars. The survey was conducted online from August 15 to 16, with a representative sample of 1,012 people aged 18 and older, using the quota method to ensure demographic balance.
