Papin accuses former official of harassment

Jean-Pierre Papin, a former player at Olympique de Marseille, recently claimed that Ali Zarrak, a former Pro 2 official at the club, subjected him to "moral harassment for one and a half years." These allegations were made in a documentary about Papin and were later discussed in the sports newspaper L'Equipe.

Zarrak denies harassment claims

Ali Zarrak denied the allegations, stating that an investigation had concluded there was no harassment from his part. He added that Papin had taken "certain liberties he should not have taken" and that behavior at the club should be more professional.

Specific incidents cited by Zarrak

Zarrak cited specific incidents, including one where Papin brought his dogs onto a team bus during a road trip. Zarrak said he had told Papin that this was not allowed, and Papin eventually placed the dogs in the bus himself.

Other incidents involving Papin

Another incident involved Papin wearing the Montpellier jersey during a training session while the team was preparing to play against Montpellier. Zarrak described this as a provocation and noted that it was unpleasant to reprimand someone of Papin's stature.

Additional claims by Zarrak

According to Zarrak, Papin also lied about his daughter Emily's illness to avoid a training session. Additionally, Zarrak recounted an instance where Papin was seen at the Vélodrome during a match, drinking champagne while claiming to have an appointment.

Further allegations against Papin

Zarrak also mentioned an incident where Papin spat on a plaque honoring former Lens coach Daniel Leclercq at a development match in Lens.
