Release date confirmed
Prime Video has announced that Blade Runner 2099, a science fiction series set in the Blade Runner universe, will debut on November 25, 2026. The series is set 50 years after the events of Denis Villeneuve's Blade Runner 2049 and will consist of eight episodes.Early access for subscribers

The story follows Olwen (Michelle Yeoh), a replicant Blade Runner nearing the end of her life, who forms an unexpected alliance with Cora (Hunter Schafer), a human who passes as a replicant. The duo becomes involved in a conspiracy that could threaten Los Angeles, which is in the process of reconstruction.Future society and production
The series is set in a future where synthetics, or artificial beings, are the dominant class. Ridley Scott, director of the original Blade Runner film, is serving as an executive producer, adding to the series' prestige and connection to the franchise.Creative team and reception
Silka Luisa, who has worked on Shining Girls and the controversial Halo series, is directing the series. The cast includes Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer.
