The Oppo Pad 5, a recently tested tablet, has been found to closely resemble the OnePlus Pad Go 2, a device tested last year. Both tablets are produced by companies under the same parent company, BBK, which also owns other well-known brands like Realme and Vivo. This similarity suggests a strategic shift, especially since OnePlus exited the European market in July of last year. The Oppo Pad 5 seems to be part of this transition, offering a similar product line under the Oppo brand. The Oppo Pad 5 uses the same hardware components as the OnePlus Pad Go 2. This includes a large 12.1-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1980 pixels and a high refresh rate of 120 Hz, a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor, a thickness of 6.8 cm, a microSD card slot, two 8-megapixel cameras, and a 10050 mAh battery that supports wired charging at 33 W. The only difference lies in the operating system: the Oppo Pad 5 runs on ColorOS 16, which includes an AI-powered application called AI Studio, while the OnePlus Pad Go 2 uses OxygenOS 16. Performance metrics such as Antutu v10 scores, 3D Mark Wild Life and Wild Life Extreme benchmarks, screen brightness, and battery life are identical for both devices. The Oppo Pad 5 is currently priced at 399 euros on its official website, whereas the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is no longer available on the official site but can be found at a lower price through resellers. The Oppo Pad 5 features a bright and well-calibrated 12.1-inch 120 Hz screen, solid performance from the Dimensity 7300 Ultra processor, and impressive battery life. However, the Oppo Pad 5 has some drawbacks. It has a 7:5 screen ratio, which is less common and may not be ideal for all users. Its camera capabilities are limited to 8 megapixels for both photo and video functions. It also offers a 3-year guarantee for Android updates, which is standard, but its 33 W charging speed is considered somewhat slow for a device with such a large battery. Additionally, it lacks IP certification, meaning it is not water or dust resistant.
