Stage winner announced

Letizia Borghesi from the AG Insurance-Soudal team has won the third stage of the Eneco Tour Women, which took place in the Netherlands. The race concluded with a challenging climb to the summit of the VAM-berg, a particularly difficult ascent in the event.

General classification standings

Lieke Nooijen from Visma | Lease a Bike retains the lead in the overall general classification. She holds a 28-second advantage over Femke Markus from SD Worx Protime, despite the intense competition on the queen stage, which featured eight ascents of similar difficulty to the VAM-berg.

Early breakaway attempt

The stage began with an early breakaway by three riders: Fariba Hashimi from CERATIZIT, Rose Kloese from VolkerWessels, and Fauve Bastiaenssen from Lotto-Intermarché. Hashimi initially tried to push the pace alone before being joined by Jeanne Korevaar from Liv AlUla Jayco.

Late-stage attacks and counterattacks

Later in the stage, Maud Rijnbeek from VolkerWessels launched an attack in the descent and managed to get ahead, accompanied by three other riders. However, she was caught less than three kilometers from the finish line by the peloton, which worked together to protect the general classification leader, Lieke Nooijen.

Final climb and podium finish

In the final climb, Letizia Borghesi made a decisive move and held off the challenge from Pfeiffer Georgi of Picnic PostNL, who finished in second place. Lieke Nooijen completed the podium, securing her position as the overall leader heading into the final day of the Eneco Tour Women.
