TikTok has launched the TikTok Online Safety Innovation Program in partnership with **Station F**, a large startup campus in Paris. The initiative aims to support up to 12 startups for six months, with the call for applications open until October 26. The first group of startups is expected to begin the program in mid-December or early January. The program focuses on innovations related to online safety, including topics such as verifying online identities, using artificial intelligence, protecting children and families, and promoting digital well-being. Selected startups will receive support from TikTok experts, including those from the Trust & Safety teams and the public affairs department, along with mentoring and workshops at **Station F**. The six-month program will end with a "Demo Day," where entrepreneurs can present their innovations to investors and potential partners. TikTok and **Station F** have worked together since 2021, with past efforts including masterclasses and communication tools for entrepreneurs. In 2025, the partnership was expanded to include TikTok Shop, an e-commerce platform built into the TikTok app. Training on TikTok Shop and e-commerce, along with mentoring sessions, were offered to startups in the Fighters Program at **Station F**. This initiative is part of TikTok's broader efforts to rebuild its reputation, especially after facing criticism from regulators about the platform's potential negative effects on the mental health of young users. TikTok is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2025 and claims to have more than 200 million users in Europe, with 27.8 million of those users in France. The company has been actively working on initiatives to improve user safety and address concerns raised by governments and advocacy groups. The TikTok Online Safety Innovation Program is one of several efforts aimed at fostering innovation in online safety and strengthening trust with users and regulators. The collaboration with **Station F** reflects TikTok's commitment to supporting emerging technologies that can enhance online safety and digital well-being. By providing resources and mentorship to startups, TikTok hopes to encourage the development of tools that can help users navigate the online world more safely. This program also highlights the growing importance of addressing online safety in the digital age, as more people, especially younger users, spend increasing amounts of time on social media platforms.
