Amazon has lowered the price of the MSI MAG 274QP QD-OLED X24 gaming monitor to 349.90 euros, a 30 percent discount from its original price of 499.99 euros. This price cut is intended to make Quantum Dot OLED (QD-OLED) technology more accessible, especially as many people are updating their computer gear in preparation for the new school year and returning to work. The monitor is designed for both gaming and office use, featuring a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel with a 240 Hz refresh rate, 0.03 ms response time, and WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels). This places its price closer to that of traditional IPS monitors, which are usually more budget-friendly. QD-OLED panels are known for their vibrant colors, deep blacks, and high contrast, offering a distinct visual experience compared to traditional IPS panels. However, they have a lower SDR (Standard Dynamic Range) brightness of 200 cd/m², which is less than some high-end IPS monitors. The monitor does not include an integrated USB hub, and its 26.5-inch size may not be ideal for users who need to multitask with multiple windows open. Additionally, OLED screens are more susceptible to burn-in, a phenomenon where static images can become permanently etched onto the screen if not used properly. The 30 percent discount is seen as a valuable opportunity for gamers, content creators, and users looking for a balance between image quality and cost. The monitor supports both G-Sync and FreeSync Premium technologies, which help reduce screen tearing during fast-paced gaming. At 349.90 euros, it offers a chance to experience OLED technology without spending more than what one would typically pay for a high-end IPS monitor. The promotion is aimed at users who need a versatile monitor for both work and entertainment. While the QD-OLED X24 is a compelling option, those requiring higher SDR brightness or larger screen sizes may want to look into more premium models. The current deal is particularly attractive for those who value high-quality visuals without the premium price tag, making it a strong contender for those in the market for a new monitor.
