Nolan's films get re-releases

Christopher Nolan's films, including Interstellar, Inception, and the Dark Knight trilogy, are often re-released in cinemas, even when no new projects are in development. This practice allows audiences to revisit these films on the big screen.

Some films are overlooked

Not all of Nolan's films receive the same attention. Insomnia, his debut at Warner Bros, and Following, his first feature film, have rarely been shown in theaters. Following has not been screened in cinemas since its release in 1999.

Re-release planned in France

Following will soon return to French theaters, 25 years after its initial release. The re-release is scheduled for July 14, 2027, through a collaboration between Motel and ESC. While the wait is long, the event is seen as a positive development for fans.

Film reflects early Nolan themes

Following showcases themes that would become central to Nolan's later work, such as manipulation and subjectivity. It also features a character named Cobb, the same name as Leonardo DiCaprio's character in Inception.

Early work with lasting influence

Shot over a year during weekends, Following lacks the polished production of Nolan's later films but serves as a precursor to his future work. It offers viewers a glimpse into the origins of a filmography that has earned seven Oscars, including those awarded to Oppenheimer in 2024.
