Human touch in travel emphasized

Michel-Edouard Leclerc, president of Voyages E.Leclerc, has highlighted the significance of human interaction in the travel industry, drawing from experiences during the pandemic. He believes that technology alone cannot replace the value of personal service in customer experiences.

Criticism of automated systems

Leclerc criticized automated systems that use AI-like questioning to direct customers, such as asking if they are in Venezuela or Chișinău and providing specific dial prefixes or instructions. He finds these systems impersonal and ineffective.

Expansion of travel agencies

This year, 18 new travel agencies have opened under the Voyages E.Leclerc network, with six more set to join by the end of the year in various locations across France. This growth increases the total number of agencies in the network to over 260.

Popular travel destinations

Leclerc noted that the most popular travel destinations are national, focusing on regions and countries around the Mediterranean. Customers are showing a strong interest in good deals and last-minute promotions, indicating a preference for flexible and cost-effective travel options.
