Theatrical Production Reimagines Orpheus and Eurydice

Orphée et Eurydice Transes Mythologiques #4 is a theatrical production by Régis Goudot and Céline Cohen that reinterprets the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The production centers on the emotional impact of Eurydice’s death on their wedding day, exploring themes of love, existential struggle, and the tension between change and stability.

Live Orchestra Central to the Performance

A key element of the production is the live orchestra known as "the orchestra of the Underworld," which plays a central role in the performance. This musical ensemble enhances the dramatic atmosphere and contributes to the storytelling, reflecting the mythological setting and emotional depth of the narrative.

Exploring Conflict and Balance

The production delves into the universal tension between those who challenge the status quo and those who uphold it. Humans, gods, and souls are all represented, raising questions about whether the story reflects a conflict or a cycle of life and death. It also examines the role of love in these dynamics, giving each character the chance to express their individuality, desires, and fears.

The production features a diverse cast including Nathalie Barolle, François-Xavier Borrel, Steve Canillac, Charlotte Castellat, Céline Cohen, Régis Goudot, David Lefebvre, Luc Onnen, and Yohann Villepastour. Additional voices are provided by Gabriel Cohen Tisseyre and Gabin Dechesne. The costumes are designed by Louise Yribarren, and the scenography is advised by Jean Castellat.
