Oasis will not headline the 2027 Glastonbury Festival, according to Emily Eavis, one of the co-organisers of the event. Despite the band announcing a large 2027 tour that includes shows in the UK, Ireland, Europe, and the US, they have not scheduled a performance at Glastonbury. Oasis is set to play at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on the Friday and Saturday of the festival, but not on Sunday. Some fans had speculated that the Gallagher brothers might headline the festival’s closing set at the Pyramid Stage, but Eavis confirmed this would not happen. Eavis responded to a social media inquiry from a fan named Jimmy, who asked if Oasis would headline, by saying, "Sorry Jimmy, not this time." This statement aligns with comments from Liam Gallagher, the band’s frontman, who dismissed speculation on social media, saying, "It's not happening," and urged fans to "calm [...] down." Oasis had taken a break in 2026 and are now on a 38-date 2027 tour, continuing their comeback after a well-received 2025 reunion that brought in around £300 million. Although the band had previously said their shows would not be televised, their concerts were later captured in the film Don't Look Back in Anger, released earlier this year. Glastonbury, which is broadcast on the BBC, offers global exposure for performers, but Eavis has previously mentioned that headliners earn significantly less than they would at other events. Additionally, Liam and Noel Gallagher, now in their 50s, did not perform three consecutive nights during their recent comeback tour, making a Glastonbury headline slot less likely. Oasis first performed at Glastonbury in 1994 on the NME Stage, which is now called the Woodsies Stage, before the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe. They headlined the Pyramid Stage in 1995 and again in 2004. Both brothers performed at the festival as solo artists during their separate careers, but they will not reunite on the Pyramid Stage in 2027. Last year’s Glastonbury featured headline performances from The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo, with Rod Stewart in the "legend" slot. Oasis had been among the favorites to headline next year, along with Taylor Swift, Madonna, Harry Styles, and others. Previous headliners include Radiohead, Pulp, Florence and the Machine, and Rihanna. Bookmakers have offered odds for possible headliners in 2027, including Charli XCX, Raye, Bad Bunny, and Adele, but Eavis confirmed that Madonna will not be one of the three headliners booked for next summer. She said, "No, it's definitely not Madonna, I'll tell you that," and added that the three headliners are "very exciting" and "all coming together really well." Taylor Swift was originally announced as a headliner for Glastonbury’s 50th anniversary in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to the pandemic. Eavis has not commented further on the possibility of Swift performing at the festival in the future.
