Studio confirms 2027 release

Code Wakers, an independent game development studio, has officially confirmed that Prospice: Anomalous Logistics will be released in 2027. The game is being published by Forklift Interactive and is described as a unique blend of off-road driving simulation and Lovecraftian horror, a genre inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft, known for its cosmic horror themes.

Gameplay combines driving and horror elements

The game builds upon the mechanics of previous titles such as MudRunner and SnowRunner, which focus on realistic off-road driving. However, Prospice: Anomalous Logistics introduces a cursed universe filled with unspeakable entities, setting it apart from traditional driving simulators. Players will take on the role of a "Pathfinder" working for the mysterious Fenrir Directive on the fictional island of Nastrondey.

Game mechanics include sanity management

Traditional off-road driving features such as manual transmission, four-wheel drive, and winch systems will be present. However, the game introduces a unique mechanic where examining the remains of deities increases a madness gauge. If left unmanaged, this can lead to cerebral death, a fictional concept representing the player's character losing their mind.

Navigation becomes increasingly difficult

The game’s map will become unreliable due to supernatural interferences, displaying incorrect positions that are out of sync with reality. Players will need to plant physical beacons made from bones to navigate through the fog that obscures their surroundings. This adds a layer of strategy and survival to the gameplay.

Exploration comes with visual penalties

Players will sometimes need to leave their vehicle to explore the environment and collect occult artifacts. However, moving away from the vehicle will gradually blur the character's vision, eventually leading to near-total blindness. This mechanic emphasizes the dangers of exploration and the need to stay close to the vehicle for safety.

Release details and availability

The game is expected to launch in 2027 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A demo version is already available on Steam, allowing players to experience a portion of the game’s unique blend of driving and horror elements before the full release.
