The Agora Crossroads Co-production Forum, part of the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, will take place from 8 to 12 November 2026. The event has announced its selection of 14 film projects from 15 countries in Southeastern Europe and the Mediterranean region. These projects, created by both emerging and established filmmakers, explore modern themes like identity, human relationships, and personal growth, while also offering new interpretations of folklore, vampires, and other traditional tales. Among the selected filmmakers are those with notable international festival and industry experience. These include Nikola Ležaić from Serbia, known for Tilva Roš and How Come It's All Green Out Here?; Ayman El Amir from Egypt, co-director of The Brink of Dreams which won Cannes’ Golden Eye; Gemma Blasco from Spain, whose film Fury was selected for SXSW; and Emilios Avraam from Cyprus, whose Smaragda - I Got Thick Skin and I Can't Jump was chosen for the Black Nights Film Festival. The forum’s jury includes Ioanna Bolomyti from Greece, Fred Burle from Germany, and Linda Mutawi from Sweden. Remi Burah, CEO of Arte France Cinéma, will present the ArteKino International Award. A new award, the FRENEL Post Lab Post-Production Award, will provide post-production image services to one selected project. Additional awards include the CNC Award (€8,000 for script development), the €6,000 ArteKino International Award, the €3,000 Finos Film Award for a Greek project, and others such as the Producers’ Network – Marché du Film Award, the MIDPOINT Consulting Award, and various independent prizes. AGORA will also reintroduce the FOCUS sessions, an initiative started at the previous year’s festival to support Greek cinema. Three selected Greek projects will have meetings with experienced industry professionals to help develop their works, find international partners, and prepare for co-production markets. The sessions will include consultations with professionals such as Sergina Stavroulaki from Heretic, Thibaut Bracq from La Fabrique – Cannes, and Angeliki Vergou, a former Agora head and script consultant.
