Kelsey Parker, the widow of late singer Tom Parker from the band The Wanted, has given birth to a newborn baby following the tragic stillbirth of her previous child. The author and podcaster shared the joyous news on Instagram, posting a photo of her newborn’s arm alongside a sign that read "River." She captioned the image, "Welcome to the world, River. Our little bit of hope." The post received warm messages of support from several celebrities, including TV presenter Susanna Reid, singer Rochelle Humes from The Saturdays, and reality TV star Holly Hagan-Blyth. Humes wrote, "Congratulations angel," while Reid expressed her delight, saying, "Oh my goodness – this is so wonderful – welcome River." Hagan-Blyth also shared her happiness for Parker. Parker and her late husband, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 33 from an inoperable brain tumor, had two children together. She previously spoke about the heartbreaking loss of her son, Phoenix, who was stillborn. Parker described the difficult experience of giving birth at home at 39 weeks, with labor lasting only minutes. She told ITV’s Good Morning Britain that she felt as though she was watching a film, unable to believe what was happening. After the birth, she was told by police that her home had become a "crime scene," and Phoenix was taken away while she waited at a maternity unit surrounded by other newborns. The police later apologized, explaining that the paramedics had no prior experience with stillborn babies. Parker announced her new pregnancy in May, sharing a video on Instagram that revealed a baby scan. At the time, she wrote, "A year ago next month, we lost our beautiful baby boy, Phoenix. And somehow, through all the heartbreak, it feels like Tom and Phoenix have sent us another little gift from heaven, our little rainbow baby." The term "rainbow baby" refers to a child born after a previous loss, symbolizing hope and new beginnings following a period of grief. Parker’s journey has been marked by immense sorrow and resilience, and the arrival of River brings a renewed sense of hope for the family.
