Rumors about a new Uncharted game have grown stronger, with recent reports claiming that Naughty Dog, the game development studio, is working on a new entry in the popular action-adventure series. According to sources like MP1st, the upcoming game would not be a remake but a completely new title. While details are still sparse, it is said that Nathan Drake, the series' iconic treasure hunter, will be involved in some capacity. However, it is unclear whether he will be a main character, a supporting figure, or only appear briefly. Shaun Escayg, the director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a standalone expansion of Uncharted 4, is reportedly leading the project. This potential new Uncharted game would come after Naughty Dog releases Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, a new title expected in 2027. The studio has also confirmed it is working on two new projects related to The Last of Us, a critically acclaimed series created by Neil Druckmann. However, specifics about these projects are still unknown. Druckmann has not revealed whether they will be games, films, or books, but fans are hoping at least one will be a new The Last of Us video game, possibly The Last of Us Part 3. Although Druckmann previously stated that Nathan Drake's story was concluded in Uncharted 4, which came out ten years ago, the possibility of his return remains open. The game ended with Drake alive and in good health, leaving the door ajar for future appearances. Some reports suggest that Cassie Drake, Nathan's daughter, could be a central character in the new game, possibly taking on a leading role. This would continue the storyline from Uncharted 4, where a young Cassie discovered her parents' past as treasure hunters. Speculation about a new Uncharted game has been around for years, with some believing Sony San Diego, a former studio that worked on the series, might have been developing a new entry. However, no official confirmation has come from Naughty Dog. Fans are eager for an announcement, excited at the prospect of the franchise's return. The development of a new Uncharted game is seen as a major event, especially since the studio has not released many original titles since the launch of the PlayStation 5.
