Quiz tests film recognition skills

A new quiz has been launched to challenge viewers to identify films directed by Tim Burton using only images. The quiz is presented by Ouest-France, a French newspaper, and includes ten images from different Burton movies.

Images feature iconic Burton films

The first image shows a scene from Edward aux mains d'argent (Edward Scissorhands), with the correct answer being that film. The second image is from Beetlejuice, and the third is from Charlie et la Chocolaterie (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory).

Quiz includes varied question types

The fourth image is from Alice au pays des merveilles (Alice in Wonderland), and the fifth is from Batman. The sixth image is from Sleepy Hollow : La Légende du cavalier sans tête (Sleepy Hollow), and the seventh is from Dumbo, which requires a free text answer.

Some questions require free text answers

The eighth image is from Big Fish, and the ninth is from Sweeney Todd : Le Diabolique Barbier de Fleet Street (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street), also requiring a free text answer. The final image is from Les Noces funèbres (The Corpse Bride).

Scoring system rewards accuracy

The quiz includes a scoring system that awards different results based on the number of correct answers. Users can receive titles ranging from "Visiteur de passage" (Passing Visitor) for fewer correct answers to "Œil de lynx burtonien" (Burtonian Lynx Eye) for those who correctly identify most or all of the films.
